History, art and culture

Kensington is just a stone's throw away from some of the UK’s best museums and exhibitions that will leave you feeling like an expert in the field.

  • The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) will spark your creative flair, as you enter the world of art and design. Admission is free and there is no need to book in advance. Take the 74 bus just outside Point A Kensington in under 20 minutes.  

  • The Natural History Museum will greet you with a whole T-rex skeleton - enough said. Admissions are free with advance booking. Just take the C1 bus outside Point A Kensington and get there in under 20 minutes. 

  • The Science Museum. The science behind modern transport, AI and human biology are just some of the astounding exhibitions in. Admission is free, just book in advance. Take the 74 bus just outside Point A Kensington in under 20 minutes.

  • Kensington Palace Gardens is not only the London home to the Prince and Princess of Wales, but also a display of remarkable flowers and botany. The Gardens link on to Hyde park, which is a great route to take Santander bikes and see the park by pedal. This is only a 30 minute walk from Point A, or a 20 minute bus.

Eating & Drinking

Breakfast/brunch

  • Balans serve delicious all day brunch and will give you the family atmosphere to make London feel like your home-away-from-home. 

  • Over & under, right next to Earls court station, will restore your faith in coffee shops. 

  • Visit Gail's Bakery on Kensington High Street to enter carb heaven and fulfil your pastry and cake dreams.

Lunch/Dinner 

  • Maroush in Earls Court is a 5 minute walk from Point A Kensington. Go here if you want a hearty and moreish meal.
  • Head to Cleopatra, if you want something lighter that’s packed full of Mediterranean flavour. 

  • Bone Daddies has rich ramen that make you want a nap and twists on delicious Japanese classics.

Drinks

  • Piano Kensington is a suave night out with smooth jazz every night of the week and fantastic cocktails. 

  • The King’s Head is a traditional British pub with a broad selection of beers, cider and ale with pub classics - only a 10 minute walk from Point A Kensington.

Shopping

Kensington isn't all about haute couture and fancy watches; Our local charity shops will make you feel like a master thrifter.

  • Red Cross on Old church Street is their official second hand vintage designer store. 

  • Octavia Foundation charity shop on Kensington High Street has plenty of preloved designer brands to choose from at very reasonable prices. 

  • Fara on Gloucester Road is a preloved palace that has an entire floor dedicated to second hand books, as well as collectibles and of course some new fits!

Kensington High Street also has many independent gift, homeware and jewellery shops as well as the “big brands” so you can fulfil your retail therapy dreams.
